It goes without saying that software tools of today instead of claiming themselves to be self sufficient by themselves embrace integration. Even apparently competitive products like Salesforce and Hubspot, which are at its core CRM, integrate through partnerships instead of keeping one’s door closed for the other (
Zapier is an app (web service or application) that facilitates integration between two apps, moving data between them or automate repetitive tasks, without coding.
A trigger is an event that starts your Zap. An App Event can be used to start the Zap when something happens in an app.
- You can schedule a Zap, every day, hour, or custom interval.
- When an RSS feed updates, the same can be used to start Zap. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way to keep updated with the latest posts/updates on a website (Refer What is: RSS).
- Webhook (premium feature) starts the Zap when another app sends a webhook. Here is a resource to refer if the concept of Webhook new to you: What’s a Webhook?
WPForms with Zapier addon will integrate forms published using WPForms with hundreds of additional web services including Salesforce, Hubspot, FreshBooks, Twilio, Google Connect, Trello, Asana, QuickBooks, and Slack.
Here is a step by step process How to Install and Use Zapier addon with WPForms:
Query 1: For sending lead generated through WPForms to Salesforce, there are two ways. Either use Salesforce addon or Zapier addon. Again for sending lead generated through WPForms to Hubspot, either use Hubspot addon or Zapier addon. Or why not instead of using Salesforce addon and Hubspot addon, use Zapier addon if one strives to integrate WPForms with both Salesforce and Hubspot.
Reply from WPForms Support: We currently don’t have a Hubspot addon, but I can explain the main difference between using Salesforce addon and connecting to Salesforce using Zapier.
When you connect to any service via Zapier, Zapier charges for those connections. For most of the integrations, they provide some credits for free, but after certain usage, they charge you for such integrations. If you use the direct addon, it removes that cost. But most of the time, these direct add-ons might take a little bit of background knowledge to integrate, while Zapier is easy to integrate most of the time.
Query 2: I would also like to clarify if there is any need to activate Salesforce addon if Zapier addon activated. I mean if Zapier addon can take care of integrating WPForms with Salesforce, is it not true that one can ignore Salesforce addon. Similar query for other addons like Constant Contact addon, SendinBlue addon. With Zapier addon, I may choose not to activate Salesforce addon, SendinBlue addon, and ConstantContact addon?
Reply from WPForms Support: If you prefer to connect via Zapier instead of a direct addon, then yes, you don’t need to keep the other addon activated. For example, to connect to Salesforce, either install Salesforce addon or activate Zapier addon(no need to activate Salesforce addon in this case).
You can seek help regarding any of your WPForms queries in two ways:
- WordPress.org forum
- Through contact page
In the words of Dean Mcpherson of Paperform, “Zapier removes the need for us to develop hundreds of direct integrations… [which] would cost us a lot in development, maintenance and support.”
This must be true for other Zapier partners as well including WPForms.
